There will be a parent meeting for 9th & 10th grade students on Oct. 16th at 6:00pm in the auditorium concerning graduation requirements, taking college classes and preparing for the future.
The Guidance department will host a FASFA night October 17th at 6:30 in the auditorium. A College Foundation rep will be here to discuss applying for student aid to attend college.
All parents of athletes who plan to play a winter sport AND DID NOT attend the required meeting in July, please plan to attend the winter sports parent - player meeting October 17th @7pm in the library. You will complete the required paperwork and view the required videos. Remember athletes MUST HAVE a current physical in order to try out for a winter sport. If you have questions, see your winter sports coach.
Hunter Safety Team sign-ups will be Oct. 23rd from 6:30-8:00pm in the cafeteria. The Hunter Safety Class will be Oct. 28th from 8am until 5pm in the Media Center.

On Thursday, October 19th the Starmount High School Health/PE Department and Compassion Care will host an informative session regarding the Reproductive Health and Safety Education Curriculum that will be taught to all 9th graders this school year. The purpose of this session will be for the parents/guardians of 9th grade students to ask questions regarding the curriculum, and for the teachers to explain how the lessons will be taught. The session for parents will be held in the media center at West Yadkin Elementary and is completely voluntary. Feel free to come by at 7:30pm on Thursday, October 19th for this information session.
